Published by Junior Staff Writer on December 19, 2009

Police arrested five people this morning for allegedly burglarizing an elementary school in Fairfield. Officers responded to an alarm at about 4:05 a.m. at Bransford Elementary School at 900 Travis Blvd. They discovered that a burglary was in progress and arrested four people who tried to run away. The fifth suspect was found during a search with a police dog and arrested. An abandoned school computer that had been stolen was located outside and officers also discovered the school had evidence of gang-related vandalism inside a classroom, police said. As a result, the burglary is being investigated as possibly gang-related. Fairfield resident Jovon Granado, 20, was booked into Solano County Jail for burglary, conspiracy and probation violation. The four other suspects, all juveniles, are facing burglary and conspiracy charges. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fairfield Police Department at (707) 428-7300.
