* Berkeley Shooting Suspect Sketch From November On Russell Street

Berkeley police today released a sketch of a young man wanted in connection with a November shooting and attempted robbery.The suspect, a man in his early 20s, approached an Oakland man and his girlfriend in the 2700 block of Russell Street at about 6:20 p.m. Nov. 29 and demanded their money, police said. When the man refused, the suspect shot him in his stomach.The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released.Police describe the suspect as an Asian man, standing about 5 feet 6 inches with a thin build and short dark hair. He was wearing a dark hooded zip-up sweatshirt.Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call police at (510) 981-5741 or (510)981-5900.
