Bakersfield High Risk Sex Offender Parolee Bruce Riley at Large

The Bakersfield Police Department is currently seeking Bruce Riley on a warrant charging him with Parole Violation.  According to Detective Nesky, Riley is a Registered Sex Offender, classified as a Sexual Violent Predator, by the California Department of Justice. Riley was convicted in 1979 for kidnapping with the intent to commit rape, rape by force, and oral copulation with a minor under 14 years of age. Since then Riley has had numerous other non sexual violent crime convictions. Riley was released from prison with a GPS monitor on June 25th 2008. On March 21st 2009, Riley made phone contact with a parole officer and said he believed the Kern County Sheriff Office was looking for him for an incident that occurred at his residence. Riley removed his GPS monitor that day as he was traveling northbound on freeway 99, just north of the Bakersfield area.
