San Jose Police Detective Jessica Mullen is hoping someone can help identify two suspects who were caught on video using stolen credit cards from a car burglary. The theft occurred in the parking lot of the San Jose Guitar Showcase on South Bascom Avenue on March 24th 2008 between 7 & 8 pm. Over $1000 in personal property was stolen from the car. By 9 pm, credit cards taken during the theft were use for over $7,900.00 worth of fraudulent charges from purchases from a Best Buy, Circuit City and Toys R Us. Shortly after 9 pm, a man and a woman were caught on video using the stolen credit cards at the MJ Market and Ernieís Liquor Store, both on Redmond Avenue in San Jose. The woman is seen buying beer at the MJ Market totaling $108 dollars. Her male partner then helps to carry the beer out of the store. A few minutes later, the two walk into Ernieís Liquor store and make purchases on the stolen credit cards totaling $182.00. They were seen at both locations driving a black Lexus.
Now if about $300 dollars in liquor and over $8000 in other merchandise wasnít enough, the same two tried to cash one of the victimís checks at the Home Depot in Gilroy the next day. The female attempted to use the victimís driverís license to cash the check. When questioned, both subjects fled the store and were seen driving a blue Chevy pickup. The female is described as Approximately 30 - 35 years old, 5-4 and approximately 185 pounds. The male is approximately 35 ñ 40 years old, 6-00, medium build with short clean cut light hair.
