UPDATE-ARRESTED

Detective Jennifer Clear reports that Rami was arrested on May 21, 2010 after a Fugitive Watch viewer recognized him and called police.  He plead No Contest and was sentenced to 365 days in jail.

The San Jose police Department is currently seeking Rami Kuordi on a warrant charging him with Assault.  According to Detective Jennifer Clear, Kuordi allegedly intentionally struck a female parking control officer with his car after arguing with her about a parking ticket.  The assault happened at the intersection of Angie Drive and Diana Drive in east San Jose.

Newark police are hoping a sketch released this evening will help investigators track down the man who attacked a teenage a girl early this morning and then shot at a motorist who followed him as he fled.A 15-year-old girl was walking near Parkshore and Edgewater drives, toward Cedar Boulevard, at about 6:40 a.m. when a man came up and grabbed her from behind, knocking her to the ground, police said.The teen kicked and screamed, and was able to break free from the man, who walked away down Parkshore Drive, according to police. The girl’s screams caught the attention of a passing bicyclist. The bicyclist alerted a motorist, who followed the attacker down Parkshore Drive until the suspect turned around and fired three shots from a handgun toward the driver, police said.No one was hit by the bullets. The incident prompted a brief lockdown of Newark Unified School District schools. Superintendent Kevin E. Harrigan issued the precautionary lockdown at about 8:30 a.m. and it was lifted at about 9 a.m.The suspect was last seen headed north on Parkshore Drive. He is described as a black man in his late teens to early 20s, 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a medium build. San Jose police today released a sketch of a man suspected in a series of sexual battery incidents near the San Jose State University campus earlier this month. Three sexual assaults occurred between 9 a.m. and noon on March 3 and the suspect in each incident was described as a Hispanic man between 20 and 30 years old, standing at about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 150 to 180 pounds, according to police. He was clean-shaven, with black straight hair and a medium build, police said. He wore a black jacket with a white stripe down each sleeve and blue jeans.It appears all three victims are female students, but police have not said whether they all attend the university.The first incident on March 3 occurred at North Eighth and St. James streets, where the victim reported that a man approached her from behind, hugged her and touched her inappropriately, police said.On the same day, similar incidents happened at about 11:05 a.m. at East San Carlos and South 12th streets and at 11:13 a.m. in the 400 block of East San Fernando Street.On March 1, a female student was walking from the university’s Fourth Street parking lot to Duncan Hall, on the south side of the campus, when a suspect on a bicycle approached her and touched her inappropriately from behind.That suspect was described as having a dark complexion, being in his mid-30s and wearing a black sweatshirt and blue jeans. Police on Wednesday identified a man believed to have shot a 29-year-old Fairfield resident in the leg after the two got in an argument at a bar last week. Just before 2 a.m. on March 8, the victim reportedly began arguing with a man at Harry’s Sportsman Lounge at 833 Texas St., Fairfield police said. The two left the bar and continued their argument outside, where the suspect allegedly went to the cab of his truck and retrieved a handgun. The suspect, identified as 51-year-old John Davis of Fallon, Nev., then shot the victim in the upper left leg and drove away before police arrived. The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, police said. Officers have not been able to find Davis, who is described as a white man with a thin build and long, straight hair. He has a multi-colored, goatee-style beard, police said. The suspect’s vehicle was described as a late 90s model Ford F-150 truck with an extended cab. It had a tan-colored camper shell and possibly Nevada license plates. A warrant was issued for Davis’ arrest out of Solano County for assault with a deadly weapon.

Police in Los Altos are investigating the sexual assault of a teenage girl while she was out jogging in July 2009.The incident occurred July 14 at about 8:30 p.m. near Parma Way and Covington Road, but the victim reported the incident only recently, Sgt. John Korges said.He said victims of sexual crimes sometimes don’t come forward right away.”The unfortunate aspect is it’s not like a house burglary,” he said. “It’s a different type of victimization.”Citing the juvenile victim’s privacy, Korges declined to give her age but said the girl is in her early teens.The suspect is described as a man in his early 30s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall. He had a medium build, a mustache and short black hair, according to the victim’s description.The man was driving a dark green Ford Explorer with a roof rack, tinted passenger windows, Firestone tires and dual exhaust pipes, according to police. The SUV is believed to be a model built between 2003 and 2008, and has a partial license plate of 5KG.Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call police Detective Susan Anderson at (650) 947-2770.

San Francisco police are searching for a 67-year-old man who they say shot a family member in the leg outside a church on Thursday in a dispute over the family’s carpet cleaning business, police said.Police said the suspect, Yuji Baba, confronted and shot the victim, an adult male family member, at about 9 a.m. Thursday outside the  front door of the Salvation Army San Francisco Korean Church at 4000 19th Avenue, and then fled.The 55-year-old victim, whose name and exact relationship to Baba were not released by police, is expected to survive. Police also did not discuss the exact nature of the dispute.Police believe Baba may have headed toward Santa Clara,and may be driving either a dark-colored American-made sedan or a 1991 Lexus with the California license plate 2XWS603.Baba was armed with a black semiautomatic handgun and is considered dangerous, police said. Richmond police today released a sketch of a suspect who attacked a woman while she was jogging in the city Saturday morning. The woman was jogging at about 9:45 a.m. Saturday along Castro Ranch Road between Conestoga Way and Olinda Road when the male suspect attacked her, police said. He allegedly approached the victim from behind and held a knife to her, telling her not to move. The suspect tried to take her toward a ravine, but the woman was able to break free from the suspect and flagged down nearby vehicles, according to police. The suspect fled into a wooded area near Castro Ranch Road, and officers did not locate him after searching the area for three hours with the assistance of a helicopter and other law enforcement agencies, police said. The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic man who is between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs more than 200 pounds. He was wearing an oversized orange sweatshirt or jacket, and tan work boots during the attack, according to police. An arrest warrant has been issued for a 24-year-old Redwood City man suspected of assaulting a gay man at a downtown Santa Cruz bar over the weekend, a case being investigated as a hate crime.Cole White is wanted on a $50,000 warrant for battery with serious bodily injury and violation of civil rights with a hate crime enhancement, police spokesman Zach Friend said.The assault was reported at about 12:50 a.m. Sunday at the Blue Lagoon at 923 Pacific Ave.Officers arrived to find the injured victim, a 31-year-old Santa Cruz man, chasing after another man who had stolen his cell phone, police spokesman Zach Friend said.Police believe the altercation began outside the Blue Lagoon, where White allegedly used derogatory language regarding the victim’s sexual orientation, Friend said.Back inside bar, the victim confronted White and took a photo of him with his cell phone camera. Police believe White then assaulted the victim while continuing to use derogatory slurs, Friend said. Another man jumped in and grabbed the victim’s phone from his hands.When police arrived, they apprehended the man who had allegedly taken the cell phone, later identified as 23-year-old David Douglas Cameron.
