Robbery – Bank of the West, 965 S. De Anza Boulevard

On 7/28/10, approximately 3:52 p.m., the suspect entered the Bank of the West, located at 965 South DeAnza Boulevard and presented a demand note to the teller. The unidentified suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and remains at large.

The suspect was described as wearing a black Nike baseball cap, white long sleeve button shirt, denim blue pants, and black shoes.

The suspect is believed to be responsible for a string of bank robberies throughout the Bay Area, Rocklin, and Roseville on the following dates:

6/2/10 – Mountain View
6/11/10 – Redwood City
6/14/10 – Los Gatos
6/28/10 – Rocklin (Sacramento area)
7/2/10 – Menlo Park
7/9/10 – Daly City
7/17/10 – Pacifica
7/27/10 – Roseville (Sacramento area)
8/27/10 – Auburn

* Phillip Ayala and Alex Rodriguez Identified as Murder Victims in San Jose

On 8/28/10, 10:42 p.m., the San Jose Police Department received a report of a disturbance in the parking lot of the Fairways Apartments, located in the 300 block of San Antonio Court, involving some sort of altercation between several males. During the altercation, several gunshots were fired. Victims Phillip Ayala and Alex Rodriguez were struck by the gunfire and died at the scene. The unidentified suspects fled the area prior to police arrival and remain at large. The case remains under investigation. Police are asking the public for help in identifying a person of interest linked to the Aug. 24 shooting death of 39-year-old Vallejo resident Corey D. Dunn. Officers responding to reports of multiple gunshots heard by neighbors in the 200 block of Woodrow Avenue found Dunn shot to death in a residential garage, police said. Nearby residents told police a man fled the scene and hopped in a black van shortly after the shots were fired. Based off a witness’s rendition of the person of interest, police describe the subject as a black man approximately 30 to 40 years old, 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall and weighing between 190 and 200 pounds. Police caution not to confront the man if he is sighted, but to contact police and to note the license plate if a similar van is noticed. The man may be traveling in the black, full-size van he reportedly used to flee the scene. That van is American in make with a tan or light-colored horizontal stripe around the body and has a very loud exhaust, according to witness reports to police.

* Possible Hit and Run Victim with Serious Injuries Found on Freeway 980 Off Ramp in Oakland

A severely injured pedestrian was found lying at the bottom of an off-ramp from westbound Interstate Highway 980 in Oakland Sunday night, according to the California Highway Patrol. He is believed to be the victim of a hit-and-run. The victim, described only as a young man or older male juvenile, is now in stable condition and being treated for a head injury and several broken bones at Highland Hospital in Oakland, CHP Officer Ralph Caggiano said. Highland doctors expect he will to survive, Caggiano said. The pedestrian has not yet been identified or interviewed by authorities because he has been receiving treatment, Caggiano said. The initial call to CHP at 11:20 p.m. Sunday was from a passerby who had already flagged down members of the Oakland Fire Department to help the injured person, Caggiano said. That caller originally believed the victim to be dead, and was calling to report a found body, Caggiano said. Oakland Fire officials were loading the victim into an ambulance when CHP officers arrived, Caggiano
said. There was no evidence at the scene, but the victim’s injuries seem to be consistent with a hit-and-run, Caggiano said. The incident is being investigated by the Highway Patrol’s Oakland office, Caggiano said.

Los Angeles Police Department’s (LAPD) West Los Angeles Area auto detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in providing information that would lead to the arrest of two burglars caught on surveillance camera in the West Los Angeles area.

Detectives say that On Monday, August 9, 2010 at around 4:30 a.m., two suspects broke into a business in the 2300 block of South Centinela Avenue by prying open the front door. Once inside, they removed electronic equipment from the location and left in a car described as a newer gold Dodge pick-up truck with chrome rims.

The first suspect is described as an African-American male. He stands at 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs around 170 pounds. He was wearing a baseball cap with an “LA” logo on the front and a jacket with “Los Angeles” written on the back in cursive writing.

The second suspect is described as a White or Hispanic male. He stands at 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs around 170 pounds and has a shaved head. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, shorts, and white socks.
