The Gilroy Police Department is asking for your help in identifying the person in this surveillance video. Detective Stan Devlin reports that on
December 20, 2007 at approximately 5am, Gilroy Police Department officers were dispatched to the Quick Stop at 8400 Church Street regarding a robbery that had just occurred. According to witnesses, this suspect walked into Quick Stop and allegedly brandished a knife towards the cashier and demanded cash from the cash register. He then stole an undisclosed amount of money and fled North bound on Church Street. At the time of the robbery the suspect was wearing a blue-hooded sweatshirt and dark colored pants.

The suspect is a male black, 6’0, 220 pounds, and 25-35 years old.

Detectives reports that Chavez allegedly got in to an argument with a friend over the suspect making a pass at the friends girlfriend. Suspect stabbed victim several times, killing the victim. Chavez fled the scene and may be in Los Angeles or Mexico.
