Shooting investigation at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. Phoenix police report that three people have been shot and one person stabbed in a fight at a Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport Restaurant.
Police say that an unrelated armed person was arrested when he allegedly responded to the airport after receiving a text from a friend telling him that there was an “active shooter” at the airport.
An active police operation brought confusion to Terminal 4 at Phoenix Sky Harbor on Christmas night.
A shelter-in-place order forced travelers to wait in the pick-up and drop off area of the Terminal 4, unable to go inside the building.
Inside, caution tape was being put up by Phoenix Police.
Police responded to a report of gunshots at Terminal 4 around 9:41 p.m. According to a release from Sky Harbor Airport, operations at the terminal and on Phoenix Sky Train were paused for precautionary measures.
The order was lifted around 10:30 p.m. and airport officials said operations had returned to normal.
