Incident Details
Time and Location: The attack occurred on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at approximately 3:30 p.m. outside Augustine Restaurant in the 300 block of Santana Row.

Victims: Two Israeli-American men were waiting for a table when they were approached by three unknown suspects.
The Assault: One victim was reportedly knocked unconscious, and both were punched and kicked. They were treated at the scene for minor injuries, including jaw and back pain.

Hate Crime Evidence: The victims reported they were speaking Hebrew when the suspects approached them “out of nowhere” and used antisemitic language during the assault, including the phrase “f—ing Jew”.

Investigation Status
Suspects: Three men wearing black shirts fled the scene before police arrived. A bystander video captured parts of the altercation and shows the suspects running away while shouting insults.

Current Action: San Jose police are actively reviewing evidence and asking for the public’s help to identify the attackers. While the case is being handled by hate crime investigators, police noted on Wednesday that they are still working to confirm if all legal elements of a hate crime have been met.
