Petaluma Police Department Press Release re: Petaluma and Santa Rosa Police Arrest Robbery Suspects

Last night Petaluma police officers assisted Santa Rosa Police Department with the pursuit, the deploying of spike strips, and the arrest of robbery suspects who had entered Safeway locations in Rohnert Park and Santa Rosa wearing ski masks and stolen merchandise. In one incident, a suspect brandished a firearm and threatened to shoot an employee.

Petaluma police officers and our K9 also assisted in searching and recovering the involved firearm thrown from the vehicle during the pursuit.

It was later discovered that the suspects appeared to have committed additional thefts and burglaries at both of the Petaluma Safeway locations earlier in the day. Officers are working with SRPD to seek additional charges.

This case is another example of excellent teamwork amongst multiple agencies throughout our county working to reduce crime.
