Oakland Police Officer Shot and Killed in Line of Duty

The Oakland police officer has not been identified.

Update: The slain officer has been identified as Officer Tuan Le. He is a four-year veteran of the department.

An Oakland police officer was fatally shot in the line of duty in the 400 block of Embarcadero Friday morning, according to officials.

Oakland Police Department Interim Chief Darren Allison, Mayor Sheng Thao and City Administrator Jestin Johnson address the shooting that left a police officer dead.

The officer will not be identified until all family members have been notified.
