The district attorney has not filed charges against Brent Smith.
Indianapolis police report that a homeowner identified as Brent Smith disarmed a home invasion suspect of his gun and then used it to shoot and kill him.
The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as 22-year-old Damon Lamar Swanigan Jr.
Indianapolis police said the homeowner had been released from police custody pending further investigation.
