Marion County Sheriff’s Office Press Release Re: Melvin Arias
**WANTED**
MAN WANTED FOR MURDER IN MARION OAKS SHOOTING
At 1:57 PM on Friday, January 12, 2024, deputies responded to 168 Marion Oaks Boulevard in reference to a shooting. When deputies arrived, they located the victim, Milagros Guzman Lopez (DOB: 7/29/1976), deceased from a gunshot wound.
According to witnesses, Melvin Arias (DOB: 3/23/1990) arrived at the location, and an argument ensued in front of the business. Arias then retrieved a firearm from his vehicle and shot the victim before fleeing the scene.
Currently, deputies and detectives are looking for Arias, who has a warrant for the murder of Milagros Lopez.
If you have any information on his whereabouts, please call 911. He is considered armed and dangerous.
