Phoenix Police Officer Stabbed, Saved by Good Samaritan Jameel Kelewood Caught on Camera

Jameel Kelewood Is being commended by Phoenix police for his heroic action.

Jameel Kelewood, the security guard, reported to the police about a group of individuals trespassing in the parking lot. He mentioned that most of them had left before law enforcement arrived, except for one person who entered the store.

Newly acquired body camera footage depicts the officer attempting to escort the individual identified as 33-year-old John Liddell, Jr. out of the store. According to police, Liddell, Jr. brandished a knife and inflicted a stab wound on the officer’s neck.

Surveillance footage from a different angle captures Kelewood tackling the suspect to the ground. Kelewood recounted, “Took him down, body slammed him. Tried to hold him down but he had some really good strength to be honest. So, I had a good time wrestling with him.”

Kelewood elaborated that he worked to restrain the suspect until additional police officers arrived on the scene.
