On January 26, the atmosphere at Golden Pride on Lomas seemed typical until an unexpected turn of events unfolded.
Surveillance footage from inside the restaurant captured Ethan Sheppard, then an employee, in the back kitchen. He appeared agitated, pacing back and forth before retrieving what authorities identified as a knife from his pocket.
Moments later, Sheppard vanished from view behind a wall, where it is believed he fatally stabbed his coworker Justin Husted.
After the incident, Sheppard is seen exiting the kitchen and heading out through the back door, where he continued to pace nervously. Despite attempting to re-enter the establishment, his coworkers prevented him from doing so.
According to statements in a criminal complaint, a witness reported that Sheppard repeatedly referred to Husted as a “snitch.”
Sheppard remains in custody pending his trial.
