According to reports from Sunday morning, an alleged armed carjacker was fatally shot by an Amazon delivery driver in Cleveland.
Around 4:05 p.m., Cleveland Division of Police officers responded to the west side of the city, near the intersection of West 28th Street and Franklin Boulevard, following reports of a shooting.
Initial investigations revealed that the suspect approached the delivery driver while they were working in the area shortly after 4 p.m.
The suspect then reportedly attempted to carjack the vehicle at gunpoint.
During the confrontation, the Amazon delivery driver discharged their weapon, striking the suspect.
Despite being shot, the suspect managed to enter the vehicle and attempted to drive away but ultimately crashed, as per WKYC-3’s report.
Upon arrival, authorities pronounced the suspect deceased at the scene.
As of now, the identities of both the Amazon driver and the suspect remain undisclosed.
The Cleveland Division of Police continues its investigation into the incident.
