The Redding Police Department released bodycam footage, surveillance footage and more information regarding an officer-involved shooting that occurred on Hartnell and East Cypress avenues of Redding, Calif. on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

This critical incident briefing video was made to provide you with information related to an officer-involved shooting that occurred on April 10th, 2024, at approximately 4:11 pm in the City of Redding. We will provide you with body-worn camera video, surveillance video, and other information related to this incident so you have a better understanding of what occurred on that date.
This is an active and ongoing investigation. In the County of Shasta, officer-involved critical incidents are investigated by the Officer Involved Critical Incident Response Team. This team is comprised of both local and state law enforcement officers. The lead agency overseeing the team rotates every two years, and currently, the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office is the lead agency.
While investigating officer involved critical incidents, investigators and detectives interview witnesses, suspects, and officers. They review video and process scenes to compile the most accurate information on what occurred. These investigations can take months to complete, involving dozens of investigating officers. Once the critical incident investigation is complete, the investigation gets submitted to the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office for review.
