Between February 1, 2024 to April 30, 2024, the San José Police Department Sexual Assaults Investigation Unit (SAIU) arrested 46 suspects that had outstanding warrants during an operational sweep.
The arrests were made possible by the coordinated efforts of SJPD Patrol Officers, SJPD Street Crimes Unit, and SAIU Detectives. Three of the arrests were made out-of-state in Wyoming, Louisiana, and New Mexico.
The suspects were responsible for crimes that took place between 2019 and 2024. All suspects were arrested for crimes ranging from misdemeanor sexual assault to felony cases of sexual assault of a minor, and rape.
“Our SAIU Detectives do an outstanding job in holding these perpetrators accountable, allowing our survivors to begin their healing process and to have a peace of mind,” said Acting Chief of Police Paul Joseph. “I am grateful for their dedication to taking these dangerous criminals off the streets and bringing justice for our survivors.”
