An Uber ride in Manhattan took a terrifying turn when passenger Jennifer Guilbeault allegedly suddenly pepper-sprayed the driver.

The alleged attack was captured on camera, and the victim spoke exclusively to PIX11 News.

Shohel Mahmud, a veteran Uber driver, believes the incident was racially motivated, though the woman involved denies this.

It happened on Wednesday night around 11:30 on the Upper East Side. Mahmud was on the phone while passengers Jennifer Guilbeault and a friend sat quietly in the backseat.

Ninety seconds into the dashcam footage, Guilbeault allegedly suddenly stood up, yelling. According to police, the 23-year-old unprovokedly attacked Mahmud and pepper-sprayed him in the face.
