San Jose Funny Farm restaurant suffers three burglaries in a month.
A San Jose restaurant has endured three burglaries in less than a month. Funny Farm Restaurant took to Instagram to inform patrons and local residents about the break-ins during August.
In a post titled “Unlucky number seven!” the restaurant revealed that it has been burglarized seven times. The post also mentioned that the building’s ADT security system had “failed” to trigger the alarm during the latest incident.
One of the photos shared by the restaurant shows a masked burglar entering what appears to be an office at 4:31 a.m. on Saturday. The suspect was dressed in a mask, gloves, a hat, and a long-sleeved shirt. Another image shows shattered glass from a broken window.
On August 13, Funny Farm Restaurant announced on Instagram that it had been broken into again the previous night, tagging District 8 Councilmember Domingo Candelas. Candelas responded, stating he would “connect” with the San Jose Police Department captain and called the burglary “unacceptable.”
By August 16, Funny Farm updated its followers, sharing that the broken window from the previous burglary had been repaired. However, on August 15, employees arrived for their shift to find broken glass yet again. Security footage posted by the restaurant shows two suspects breaking in around 2 a.m. that day. One suspect, wearing a hood, smashed the glass door with an object. Once inside, the alarm sounded, and the suspects fled in a getaway car.
Funny Farm, known for putting a unique twist on “everyday favorites” in what it describes as “downright looney and wonderful” ways, is located at 4898 San Felipe Rd. in San Jose.
