PLANE LANDS ON STATE ROUTE 76 IN OCEANSIDE: TWO ARRESTED FOR NARCOTICS TRANSPORTATION
Oceanside, CA — On September 26, 2024, at approximately 1:43 a.m., officers from the Oceanside Police Department responded to an emergency radio call regarding a plane that had made an unexpected landing on State Route 76 near Canyon Drive. The aircraft had landed on the roadway without any reported injuries to the occupants or any individuals on the ground. The pilot, who was unharmed, reported engine failure as the reason for the emergency landing.
Upon further investigation, both occupants of the aircraft were contacted by authorities. A search of the plane was conducted, during which a large quantity of narcotics was discovered. Both individuals were arrested and taken into custody for illegal transportation of narcotics. Both occupants are Oceanside residents.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has been notified and is actively conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the emergency landing. Further information will be released as the investigation continues.

The two suspects arrested in this incident, have been identified as, 21-year-old, Gabriel Leon Breit and 36-year-old Troy Othneil Smith, both from Oceanside, CA.

Oceanside, CA — El 26 de septiembre de 2024, aproximadamente a la 1:43 a. m., agentes del Departamento de PolicÃa de Oceanside respondieron a una llamada de radio de emergencia sobre un avión que habÃa realizado un aterrizaje inesperado en la ruta estatal 76 cerca de Canyon Drive. La aeronave habÃa aterrizado en la carretera sin que se reportaran heridos ni para los ocupantes ni para las personas en tierra. El piloto, que resultó ileso, informó que el motivo del aterrizaje de emergencia fue una falla en el motor.
Tras una investigación más exhaustiva, las autoridades se comunicaron con ambos ocupantes de la aeronave. Se llevó a cabo una búsqueda en el avión, durante la cual se descubrió una gran cantidad de estupefacientes. Ambos individuos fueron arrestados y puestos bajo custodia por transporte ilegal de narcóticos. Ambos ocupantes son residentes de Oceanside.
