Search continues by local, state, and federal law enforcement for a suspect who shot a Hillsborough police officer.
Police say that an officer was shot and wounded in an ambush in the parking lot of the police headquarters.
Hillsborough police are looking for dash camera footage from motorists who may have been traveling in the area of the shooting that injured an officer at about 4:00 pm on Saturday.

Hillsborough Police Department Press Release Update Re: Officer-Involved Shooting

Hillsborough, CA – Throughout the evening of February 22, 2025, and the early morning hours of February 23, 2025, Hillsborough Police Department (HPD) investigators, along with allied agencies, pursued investigative leads on potential suspects involved in the officer-involved shooting that occurred on February 22, 2025.
Our investigation brought us to South San Francisco, where a person of interest was interviewed regarding this case. We are continuing to pursue active leads in this case and working tirelessly to identify and apprehend the suspect involved.
At this time, HPD is confident that the suspect fled the scene, and that this incident was specifically targeting the police department. No further information about the suspect will be released at this time.
HPD would like to thank the community for their well wishes and support of our agency and for the well-being of our officer, who thankfully survived this violent encounter. We would also like to thank all our allied local, state, and federal partners for their response and continued assistance in this investigation.
