Officer Taylor was convicted of deadly conduct after he shot a man armed with a knife who was having a mental health episode.

Officer Taylor’s attorney argued that police witnesses, including two Austin police chiefs, testified that Officer Taylor’s shooting of the suspect was legally justified.

Officer Taylor was released on bond pending his appeal.
