Bianca Hernandez Arrested for Alleged Burglary of Slain Professor’s Home

Bianca Hernandez bail was set at $1,000, according to court records.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police say officers have one woman in custody accused of breaking into the home of a late UNLV professor killed in the December 6th shooting on campus.

Police report that they have arrested Bianca Hernandez for allegedly burglarizing slain UNLV professor Dr. Naoko Takemaru’s home.

Police say Bianca Hernandez allegedly made posts online trying to sell some of the property taken during the burglary.

Bianca Hernandez now faces charges of residential burglary, buying, possessing, or receiving stolen property, and conspiracy to commit burglary.

Bianca Hernandez’s bail was set at $1,000, according to court records.

Woman Arrested in Connection to Burglary

On December 26, 2023, at approximately 1:11 p.m., LVMPD officers responded to a report of burglary at a residence in the 3900 block of Deer Haven Court. The suspect was observed entering the residence, removing objects and taking them to a vehicle nearby. The individual was gone prior to officers arriving.

Through investigative means, detectives were able to identify 30-year-old Bianca Hernandez as the suspect in this burglary. A search warrant was executed at Hernandez’s residence located in the 3900 block of Deer Haven Court. Detectives learned that Hernadez had made online posts with the intent of selling the property taken during the burglary.

On January 2, 2024, Bianca Hernandez was taken into custody by the LVMPD. She was booked into the Clark County Detention Center for several charges to include:

Residential Burglary
Buy/Posses/Receive Stolen Property
Conspiracy to Commit Burglary
