California Motorcyclist Allegedly Splitting Lanes is Hit by CHP Officer Trying to Slow Traffic

Even though splitting lanes is legal in California you need to be riding a speed that is safe for the conditions.

A viral video shows a California motorcyclist allegedly splitting lanes and being hit by a CHP officer’s patrol car as he is trying to slow traffic.

In this video you will see a California motorcyclist splitting lanes. It’s up to the motorcycle to ensure traffic is clear, you’ll see a CHP officer zig-zag back and forth. This is done because they’re trying to slow Traffic down for what reason we’re unsure, it could be to clean debris from another accident, it could be because they need to pick something up that’s in the road, like a ladder that fell out of a truck, or something. In any case, splitting lanes, though it’s legal in California, requires riding at a speed that is safe for the conditions.
