COPA RELEASES VIDEO & OTHER MATERIALS FROM FATAL OFFICER-INVOLVED SHOOTING
NEAR 900 E. 100th St
Today, the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) is releasing video and other materials related
to a fatal officer-involved shooting near 900 E. 100th Street. COPA investigators immediately responded
to the scene and began the investigation.
On March 20, 2025, the Chicago Police Department (CPD) notified COPA of an officer-involved shooting.
Preliminary information indicates this incident began when CPD officers responded to a domestic related call. As officers entered a residence, one of the officers encountered an armed individual and victim inside a bedroom. As the victim fled the room, the armed individual pointed a firearm in the direction of the officer. The officer discharged their weapon, striking the individual. The individual was transported to the hospital and was later pronounced deceased. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment, as well as one officer for observation. A gun was recovered on scene.
COPA serves as the designated agency for the City of Chicago authorized to release video and other materials per the Consent Decree and the City’s Video Release Policy.
