Elderly Man Gordan Peter Wilson Shot and Killed, Car Stolen – Suspect at Large

Police Identify Victim of Fatal Shooting at Best Buy – Suspect Remains at Large

Santa Fe, NM – August 6, 2024. The Santa Fe Police Department has identified the victim in the fatal shooting that occurred at the Best Buy as Gordan Peter Wilson, 83, of Santa Fe. Mr. Wilson’s next of kin have been notified.

The suspect still remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the suspect or the victim’s vehicle to contact the Santa Fe Police Department; do not approach the suspect and call 911 immediately.

Today at approximately 10:25 a.m. Santa Fe Police Officers were dispatched to the Best Buy, located at 3533 Zafarano Drive, in reference to a possible shooting. Officers arrived on scene at 10:26 a.m. and learned at least one male had been shot in the parking lot of the Best Buy. The victim has succumbed to his injuries and died.

The suspect stole the victim’s 2020 blue Jeep Grand Cherokee, bearing New Mexico registration plate CRM142, and fled the area prior to the officer’s arrival.

The suspect is described as Hispanic male, with a goatee, tattoos on his arms, wearing black jeans and a bright blue shirt with button up shirt underneath, and a white baseball cap; please see the photo attached in this release.

Officers continue to actively search for the male suspect.
