Erick L. Aguirre Arrested for Allegedly Killing Fake Parking Attendant

A 29-year-old man is accused of murdering a man who allegedly posed as a parking attendant in EaDo on April 11 while he was on a date with a woman.

UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 1300 Chartres Street

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 1300 Chartres Street about 7:55 p.m. on April 11.

The suspect, Erick L. Aguirre, 29, is charged with murder in the 232nd State District Court. A booking photo of Erick L. Aguirre is attached to this news release.

He is accused in the death of Elliot Nix, 46.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Montalvo and Detective E. Martinez reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found Mr. Nix unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported Nix to a local hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased.

A preliminary investigation indicated Nix and an unknown suspect were involved in an argument that escalated into a shooting. The suspect(s) fled the scene in a 2015-2019 pearl white, Cadillac CTS or ATS. Surveillance photos of a male and female persons of interest, wanted for questioning in the shooting, were released to the public on April 12.

Further investigation and Crime Stoppers tips identified Aguirre as the suspect in this case. He was arrested in Aransas County, Texas, and extradited back to Harris County on Tuesday (April 25).

The female person of interest, who was also identified, voluntarily spoke with detectives and was released with no charges filed.
