Erik Enriquez Arrested by San Jose Police for Alleged Attempted Homicide

Police say that Erik Enriquez shot at a rideshare vehicle containing three females, striking one of the female passengers.

On December 31, 2024, at approximately 11:14 PM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon that occurred in the area of Don Alfonso Way and Entrada Cedros. Upon arrival, Officers discovered that three adult female victims had entered a rideshare vehicle when an adult male suspect approached their vehicle and produced a firearm. As the driver began to drive away, the suspect discharged the firearm, striking one of the female passengers. The driver immediately transported the victim to a local hospital, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.

SJPD Assaults Unit Detectives immediately began an extensive investigation and identified the suspect as Erik Enriquez. Detectives also discovered that Suspect Enriquez had been arrested shortly after the shooting for an unrelated crime in the city of San José and was in possession of a firearm that is believed to have been used in the December 31st incident.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect and a search warrant for his associated residence.

On April 8, 2025, with the assistance of the SJPD Covert Response Unit, a search warrant was executed in the city of San José, during which Detectives located an un-serialized assault rifle. Suspect Enriquez was apprehended and arrested in the city of San José. The suspect was subsequently booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for attempted murder, discharge of a firearm into an occupied vehicle, vandalism, and possession of an assault rifle.
