A 70-year-old woman is fighting for her life, a suspect is dead, another suspect is arrested and a third suspect is still at-large following Monday evening’s shooting and pursuit in Escambia County.

At approximately 6:30 PM, a drive-by shooting occurred in the Massachusetts Avenue area. A female victim was located who sustained a gunshot wound, her condition is unknown. Following the incident, the suspect’s vehicle was located and fled. A pursuit was initiated, and deputies used a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle on the Hwy 90 bridge at Scenic Highway. After the vehicle was stopped, the three suspects exited the vehicle and jumped from the bridge. One suspect sustained injuries after jumping, another was pulled from the water and detained, and the third suspect has not yet been located. Firearms were located inside the vehicle. No deputies were injured.
** UPDATE**
K-9 Streeter jumped from the bridge in pursuit of the suspects and was taken to the vet for evaluation.
