Euclid Police Officer Jacob Derbin tragically lost his life on Saturday night while responding to a call. Shortly before 10 p.m., Euclid Police received a dispatch to a residence in the 300 block of E. 211th Street regarding a disturbance. As officers conducted their investigation, a gunman initiated gunfire, hitting Officer Derbin. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
The suspect responsible for this devastating act has been identified by Euclid Police as Deshawn Anthony Vaughn.
Police say Vaughn later committed suicide after a standoff with police.
