Hector Sanchez Arrested by San Jose Police for Alleged Violent Carjacking

Police say the suspects included 18-year-old Hector Sanchez and seven juvenile male suspects ranging from 15 to 17 years of age.

On January 12, 2025, at approximately 1:08 AM, San José Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of a carjacking that occurred at a park located in the area of Sandpebble Drive and Vista Park Drive. The adult male victim was approached by seven male suspects who utilized their vehicles to trap the victim. While the victim attempted to flee, the suspects violently assaulted the victim and took his vehicle keys. The suspects fled prior to police arrival. The stolen vehicle was later located that same morning in the area of Valleyhaven Way and Stoneyhaven Way.

SJPD Robbery Unit Detectives began a comprehensive investigation and, with the assistance of SJPD Patrol Officers and the Real Time Intelligence Center, identified eight suspects. The suspects included 18-year-old Hector Sanchez, and seven juvenile male suspects ranging from 15 years of age to 17 years of age. Detectives obtained arrest warrants for all eight suspects and search warrants for their associated residents.

On March 25, 2025, one juvenile male suspect who was already in custody for an unrelated crime was arrested and booked for the incident.

On March 27, 2025, with assistance from the SJPD Covert Response Unit (CRU), one juvenile male suspect was arrested in the city of San José and booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall.

On May 1, 2025, SJPD CRU located and arrested Suspect Sanchez and four juvenile male suspects in the city of San José. With the assistance of the Livermore Police Department, another juvenile male suspect was apprehended and arrested in the city of Livermore. Suspect Sanchez was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail, and the remaining juvenile suspects were booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall, all for crimes related to carjacking, assault, and robbery.
