Brea police report that a man and wife were allegedly killed and their bodies burned by Huanting Gong, who owed them $80k.
The investigation into a wild double murder continued on Wednesday. Detectives say that the suspect killed and then burned the bodies of a Brea couple whom he apparently owed $80,000.

On October 15th, 2024, Brea Police Detectives began investigating a case of missing persons involving two Brea residents. In early November, Detectives located evidence in rural areas of California that indicated that both of the missing persons had been the victims of homicide. Through substantial investigation, detectives were able to identify a suspect in this case.
On November 5th, 2024, Officers arrested Huanting GONG at a local airport. He was booked at Orange County Jail for the following charges:
187 (a) P.C., Murder
207 (a) P.C., Kidnapping
459 P.C., Burglary
GONG is being held without bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned on November 8th, 2024.
There is no ongoing threat to the public. However, this investigation is ongoing and the victims’ names or any further information will not be released at this time.
