Jaremy Smith Wanted for Alleged Murder of New Mexico State Police Officer Justin Hare

Officer Hare stopped to render aid to stranded motorist when Jaremy Smith suddenly shot and killed the officer.

Updated SUSPECT Information: The suspect in Officer Justin Hare’s Murder has been identified as Jaremy Smith, 32, of Marion, South Carolina.

New Mexico State Police has issued an arrest warrant for Smith, charging him with First Degree Murder, Armed Robbery, Shooting at or from a Motor Vehicle, Tampering with Evidence, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Taking of a Motor Vehicle, and Criminal Damage to Property.

Smith is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. If seen, call the New Mexico State Police at (505) 425-6771 or dial 911.

At 11:00 a.m., New Mexico State Police will hold a live press conference at the Albuquerque State Police Office conference room located at 2501 Carlisle BLVD NE.
