Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Press Release Re: Jenny Lin Murder Cold Case
On Friday, May 27, 1994, someone murdered 14-year-old Jenny Lin in her Castro Valley home. Since her death, Jenny’s family has remained committed to seeking justice and raising awareness through the Jenny Lin Foundation. The foundation promotes child safety and youth music education in memory of Jenny, who was a talented musician and honor roll student.
The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to investigating Jenny Lin’s murder, and each year we walk in solidarity with the Lin family with the promise that we will never forget Jenny. Jenny’s case remains a top priority of our Cold Case Unit, and as new technology emerges, the case is resubmitted to crime labs.

BOLO for the above subject possibly connected with the Jennifer Lin Murder. Victim was found in her home with multiple stab wounds.
The subject in the sketch approached the victim’s father approximately two weeks prior to the 187 PC at the Bayfair B.A.R.T. parking lot. The subject told Mr. Lin that he had his daughter. Mr. Lin fled and confirmed his family was safe at that time. No report was made.
