On Friday, May 27, 1994, someone murdered 14-year-old Jenny Lin in her Castro Valley home. Since her death, Jenny’s family has remained committed to seeking justice and raising awareness through the Jenny Lin Foundation. The foundation promotes child safety and youth music education in memory of Jenny, who was a talented musician and honor roll student.

The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to investigating Jenny Lin’s murder, and each year we walk in solidarity with the Lin family with the promise that we will never forget Jenny. Jenny’s case remains a top priority of our Cold Case Unit, and as new technology emerges, the case is resubmitted to crime labs.
