Murder suspect Karon Fisher allegedly seen running victim over, kissing and stabbing him.
Sources said this was among the most horrifying murders they’d seen in their careers. Police said they hope video obtained by ABC13 leads to a quick conviction and justice for the victim’s family.
Eyewitness News obtained a deeply disturbing video capturing a murder in broad daylight.
On May 3, the victim, Steven Anderson, was walking on Woodridge Square Drive to pick up mail when a car struck him.
The suspect, identified in court records as 20-year-old Karon Fisher, described as a man in court records but also referred to as a woman by police.
ABC13 edited the graphic video, pausing before Anderson was hit.
The car reversed and struck him again, pushing him further into the street as neighbors frantically called 911.
One neighbor emerged with a pillow, and the suspect returned with a knife.
The suspect was captured on video flipping Anderson’s limp body over, straddling and kissing him before stabbing him nine times.
Casually walking away as if nothing had happened, the suspect left shocked neighbors in disbelief.
“It’s very disturbing. I have kids here; they could have been out here playing, and imagine them,” one neighbor expressed to ABC13.
The suspect was seen attempting to enter another car while conversing with witnesses. Unsuccessful, she leaped over Anderson’s body and walked away.
Fisher faces charges for the murder of the 64-year-old victim and is held on a $2 million bond.
“In broad daylight. People around every time and it happened right under our noses,” one neighbor lamented.
ABC13’s Brooke Taylor spoke with neighbors, but the trauma was too much for them to relive and discuss again.
One woman mentioned she hasn’t returned to work and seeks therapy to cope with the traumatic murder.
Records indicate Fisher was under community supervision for five years for evading arrest in 2023. Additionally, she faced prostitution charges in 2021, which were later dismissed. On the same day as the murder, Fisher was also charged with assaulting a hospital staff member.
