Two people are dead and multiple were hospitalized after a shooting at a Las Vegas gym, which led to police shooting and killing a suspect, according to Metro police.

On May 16, 2025, at approximately 1:34 p.m., the LVMPD Communications Center received multiple reports of shots being fired inside a business in the 1700 block of North Rainbow Boulevard.

Officers responded to the scene and identified a suspect standing at the door armed with a firearm. The suspect ran out the door and officers discharged their firearms striking him. The officers immediately took the suspect into custody and rendered aid. Medical arrived and transported the suspect to UMC where he was later pronounced deceased.

While clearing the scene, one shooting victim was located inside deceased and two additional victims were transported to a local hospital, one in critical condition and one suffering non-life-threatening injuries.

During the course of the investigation, detectives learned an additional victim self-transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

This is the 3rd officer-involved shooting of 2025. Per LVMPD policy, the identity of the officers involved will be released after 48 hours.
