Detectives Seek Help Identifying Male Who Threw Dog into Dumpster
Update – Suspect Arrested
Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified 30-year-old Alexis Flores as the suspect in this case. He was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center for three counts of Willful/Malicious Torture/Maim/Kill Dog/Cat/Animals.

On April 15, 2025, the LVMPD Animal Cruelty Detail was made aware of an animal abuse incident involving a small dog that occurred in the 5500 block of Sheila Avenue and responded with Animal Protection Services.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives learned that on April 14, 2025, at approximately 9:14 a.m., a man wearing red shorts and no shirt exited his vehicle carrying a small dog by the neck. The man approached a dumpster and forcefully threw the dog inside. He got back in his vehicle, conducted a U-turn, and then drove up to the dumpster to close the lid before driving off. The dog was located on April 15th, was taken to a local animal hospital, and is doing fine.
