A suspect has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of a longtime Oakland business owner Aristeo Zambrano.
The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has charged Robert Leigh Moore, 33, with the murder of 68-year-old Aristeo Zambrano, the owner of Bay City Alternators, located at 88th Avenue and International Boulevard.
Zambrano was shot and killed at his auto shop on February 3. Authorities have not disclosed what prompted Moore to open fire on Zambrano.
Zambrano, a former farmworker, had been running Bay City Alternators for over 30 years in East Oakland and was nearing retirement.
His family often worried about his safety. He is survived by three daughters.
