Cellphone video captured the dramatic moment a Miami police officer opened fire on a driver through the windshield, while clinging to the hood of a moving car.
The footage shows the officer firing multiple shots through the windshield of a black BMW as the vehicle makes a left turn. Moments later, the injured driver exits the car and is quickly taken into custody before being transported to a hospital.
The incident is now under investigation, and the video has been entered as evidence.
According to police, the officer had been struck by the vehicle prior to the shooting, though the video does not show what preceded the encounter.
