Morgan Hill Police Shoot Assault Suspect Shaun Hillman During Disturbance Investigation

Morgan Hill Police Department Press Release Re: Shaun Hillman Shot by Officer

On April 18, 2025, at approximately 12:20 a.m., Morgan Hill Police officers responded to the Safeway grocery store, located at 840 E. Dunne Avenue, to investigate the report on an in-progress disturbance. Upon arrival, officers contacted Shaun Hillman, (40 y/o) from Van Nuys, CA. During the investigation, officers located a victim who had been attacked by Hillman and sustained injuries due to the assault. Hillman’s subsequent actions caused officers to use force that resulted in Hillman being shot by police officers. Following the shooting, officers rendered first-aid until Hillman could be transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his wounds. Hillman’s injuries are not considered to be life threatening at this time. No officers were injured during this incident.

Hillman was arrested for multiple felony violations to include assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer and resisting a police officer.

This is an active investigation, and additional details will follow on Tuesday April 22, 2025.
