Oklahoma City police report that on May 5, 2024, Oklahoma City Police Officers responded to 3108 NW 61st St. in reference to a domestic where a female shot a male in the chest. When officers arrived, they located the adult male victim in the front of the house and moved him to a safe location to receive medical assistance.
Officers called for the female suspect, identified as 61-year-old Lisa Daniels, to exit the home. The suspect yelled to the officers she had a gun. Officers got into a position of cover outside of the residence. Daniels exited the home minutes later with a sweater over her hand making motions as if she had a gun in her hand.
Daniels began to approach an officer while raising her hand when the officer discharged his firearm toward her. Daniels was not struck by the officer’s gunfire. As the suspect turned, officers were able to determine she did not have a gun under the sweater and were able to successfully tase her. Daniels was taken into custody and booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center for domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. The gunshot victim was transported to an area hospital and is expected to survive. The involved officer has been placed on routine administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. There were no other injuries reported.
