Emeryville Police have released a photo of a person of interest as they investigate an Emeryville stabbing of a juvenile during a chaotic day at the Bay Street mall when hundreds of young people were involved in fights and unruly behavior.

The Emeryville Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest associated with a felonious assault investigation that occurred at Bay St. on August 27th, 2023, at approximately 4:30 PM.
Background:
On August 27, 2023 Emeryville Officers responded to the Bay St. mall following a report that a large group of individuals causing a disturbance. Officers attempted to maintain the peace while additional smaller fights broke out. At about 7:00 p.m., a caller reported that a person was stabbed near Elm Dr. Officers responded to that location and found a juvenile victim who had been stabbed. Emergency medical responders were called to the scene to render aid. The juvenile victim was treated and transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

EPD detectives have obtained a picture of a person who may be involved in this felonious assault and are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying them.
