The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office has released video allegedly showing Deputy Matthew Gurich shoving an elderly woman identified as Ourania Thimmhardy out the door of the county jail.
Thimmhardy’s family says she fell to the ground after being pushed by the deputy and suffered a hip injury requiring a serious injury and a lengthy hospital stay. Her son says she is 71 years old and suffers from mental illness and hip injuries, which can be serious for elderly people.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Amar Gandhi says Gurich has been terminated following the incident.

The sheriff’s office says they have forwarded the reports to the district attorney for potential criminal prosecution.
