Salinas Police Department Press Release Re: Suspect Arrested for Alleged Drug Sales and Gun Possession After 28-Mile Pursuit
VSTF had been investigating a suspect for drugs sales and gun possession.
On March 25th officers tried to pull him over in Soledad, but instead of stopping, he took them on a 28-mile pursuit, tossing a handgun and narcotics along the way. He got away… for the moment and a search of his home that day turned up two more firearms.
A few days later, on March 31st, with help from Salinas PD SWAT, the suspect was found in Watsonville, with a loaded firearm tucked in his waistband. During a search of the house he was hiding in officers located cocaine, meth, and all the signs of drug dealing.
Still not done on April 2nd, VSTF and SWAT served a warrant at another location tied to the suspect in King City, recovering two stolen dirt bikes and nearly 2 pounds of powdered fentanyl.
The suspect is a convicted felon with a history of selling narcotics. He was lodged at Monterey County Jail for several new felony charges.
