San Bernardino County Sheriff Releases Video of Deputy Fatally Shooting Jorge Cardenas

Deputies say that Jorge Cardenas, had threatened his girlfriend with a gun.

Newly released body camera footage from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department captures a tense shootout with Jorge Cardenas at a Victorville gas station that left a veteran sergeant injured and the 27-year-old suspect dead.

The shooting occurred just after 1:40 p.m. on December 1, 2023, outside the ARCO AMPM convenience store and gas station located in the 13600 block of Bear Valley Road, near Amethyst Road.

According to sheriff’s officials, the situation began when a woman barricaded herself inside the store’s restroom and asked employees to call 911, reporting that her boyfriend, later identified as Jorge Cardenas, had threatened her with a gun.
