On March 8, 2025, at approximately 4:23 p.m., San Francisco Police officers responded to a residence located on the 1200 block of 41st Avenue regarding an armed adult male subject with a firearm threatening neighbors.
Officers attempted to make contact with the armed subject. During the encounter, the subject discharged his firearm and an officer-involved shooting occurred. The armed male subject was struck by gunfire. Officers rendered aid and paramedics responded to the scene. The male was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
This incident is being investigated by the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office; the San Francisco Police Department Investigative Services Detail (ISD); the San Francisco Police Department Internal Affairs Division (IAD); and the Department of Police Accountability (DPA).
All information is preliminary and could be subject to change. This is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public. This remains an open and active investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available. As part of SFPD’s commitment to transparency and accountability, a town hall meeting regarding this officer-involved shooting will be held within ten days.
