According to a report from SFGATE, the restaurant struggled with frequent incidents of dine-and-dash and vandalism. Additionally, the “tremendous” expenses of operating a business in San Francisco played a significant role in the diner’s closure, franchise owner Chris Haque revealed to SFGATE.

A Denny’s spokesperson did not provide specific details about the closure, stating that “Denny’s does not comment on the closure of its franchise locations.” The spokesperson acknowledged that “closing a restaurant is never an easy decision” and expressed gratitude to the local community and team members for their support, saying, “It has been a pleasure serving you.”

Although this was the final Denny’s in San Francisco, the company directed customers to a nearby location on Airport Boulevard in South San Francisco.
