San Jose Police Department Press Release
On February 16, 2023, at approximately 11:43 PM, Officers working security at the SAP Center responded to a felony assault incident that occurred in front of the venue. The incident was captured on video and was circulated on social media. The victim in the assault was a food vendor selling hot dogs after an event. The victim sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Detectives from our Assaults Unit launched an investigation into this violent attack. With the assistance of community members and investigative tactics, Dioscoro Reyes was identified as the suspect in this incident. An arrest warrant was obtained for the suspect, and he was located and taken into custody in the city of Hayward by the Department’s Covert Response Unit (CRU). He was subsequently booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for felony assault. He has posted bail and is no longer in custody.
