San Jose Police Department Press Release Re: South 4th Street Hit and Run
SJPD is Seeking Public Assistance in Identifying the Suspect in Hit-and-Run Injury Collision

On October 12, 2024, at approximately 1:20 AM, patrol Officers responded to the intersection of South 4th Street and East San Carlos Street for a report of a hit-and-run vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
The suspect vehicle drove southbound on South 4th Street when it struck an adult female pedestrian crossing the street at the intersection of East San Carlos Street. The suspect vehicle then fled the scene and continued southbound on South 4th Street toward southbound I-280.
The female pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with major injuries that were later determined to be non-life threatening.

SJPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the unknown suspect vehicle captured on the surveillance video above. The vehicle was described as a dark-colored sedan. The suspect driver is still outstanding.
